Having been born in 1883 and orphaned in 1896 at the age of 13, there are relatively few photos that have survived of Patrick Lynch and none known to exist of his parents, Eugene Lynch and Elizabeth (O'Rourke) Lynch.

City of Waterbury, Connecticut (USA)
The city of Waterbury became home to many Irish immigrants. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, Waterbury was a bustling city with plenty of opportunity for immigrants of all ethnicities. Known as 'The Brass City' for its' manufacturing of brass and other metals, the Waterbury area is also well known for decades of clock and watch production.

Ellis Island opened on January 1, 1892 and it was a young Irish girl named Annie Moore that was the first immigrant processed through this now world-famous landmark of American immigration.

Statue of Liberty (New York NY)
The Statue of Liberty was a gift to the American public from the French. The official dedication ceremony was held on October 1886 and for millions of immigrants, this statue served as the ultimate symbol of American freedom and opportunity.
