In a recent interview, Lynch commented on using the Internet to reach customers:
"Despite being a strong advocate of online media, I always emphasize a traditional communications approach!  When used as an integrated component of an overall marketing strategy - the Internet can be very effective in helping reinforce offline efforts to present a consistent direct-to-consumer message."

The History of "Mattatuck" • The town of Waterbury, Connecticut was incorporated in 1686 after having been settled several years earlier by a group of residents from Farmington, CT in search of a new area to expand their settlement and establish their home. The early village was known by the original Indian name of Mattatuck - meaning "badly wooded".  Althought the meaning of the original word may be a mystery to many, the term Mattatuck is still familiar to residents of the greater Waterbury area. The Mattatuck Community College (now the Naugatuck Valley Community College), Mattatuck Museum, and Mattatuck Drum Band are among other groups helping keep the name alive.

The Mattatuck Museum  · The Mattatuck Museum, located on the Waterbury Green in central Connecticut, is a tremendous collection covering more than three centuries of the history of the greater Waterbury and the Naugatuck Valley region, as well as the master artists of Connecticut. The museum houses a 300-seat performing arts center, an art studio classroom, and a research library. An acclaimed cafe, coffee bar, and store offer services to visitors year round.

The Mattatuck Historical Society  · The library and archives of the Mattatuck Museum (and Mattatuck Historical Society) are open by appointment only. There are a variety of collections and archive projects ongoing. Researchers are asked to submit a written description of their project to request permission to access the archives. Fees may be charged to help defray the costs of staff needed to facilitate research requests.

Mattatuck Drum Band  · The Mattatuck Drum Band is the oldest fife and drum band in the United States with continuous membership since it was organized in 1767. It is a senior ancient band whose members seek to perpetuate the music, traditions and heritage of the founders of the State and Country.
